RealTracks in the Audiophile: Over 700 instruments total What are RealTracks? RealTracks replace the MIDI track for that instrument, and can be controlled just like the MIDI instrument (volume changes, muting etc.). They follow the chord progression that you have entered, so you hear an authentic audio accompaniment or solo. RealTracks are not "samples"... They are full recordings, lasting from 1 to 8 bars at a time, playing in perfect sync with the other tracks.

RealDrums in the Audiophile: Over 250 RealDrums main drum styles plus hundreds of variations of each. What are RealDrums? They are not "samples" of single drum hits, but are full recordings lasting from 1 to 8 bars at a time, playing along in perfect sync with the other tracks. As well as incredible drum sounds, you hear the exact rhythms and variations played by the drummer.

System Requirements - Windows Edition (Mac Edition is a Separate purchase)

Band-in-a-Box runs on Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista/7 (32bit or 64bit), and requires a minimum of 256MB available RAM. Basic MIDI features require a less powerful computer than the latest RealTracks features. For best performance, we recommend a fairly up-to-date computer with Windows XP or higher, a fast processor, and at least 1GB RAM. Without RealDrums or RealTracks, you need a minimum of about 400MB of free hard disk space. More hard disk space is required for the RealTracks and RealDrums, roughly 100-400MB per Set. A full install of the PRO version (including RealTracks/Drums) requires about 4 GB. A full install of the MEGAPAK version requires about 7 GB. The Audiophile Edition is about 40GB total, and have the option of either downloading, or shipping "pre-installed" on a USB hard drive. You can run the program directly from the hard drive or install on your computer.

A MIDI sound source is required. This could be a sound card, a MIDI keyboard, MIDI sound module, or software synthesizer. We include a software synthesizer with Band-in-a-Box that is compatible with 32-bit operating systems. There are other software synths available that are compatible with 64-bit operating systems, such as the ForteDXi and TTS-1.
